A Global Capital We Return to Again and Again
We’ve been to London more than ten times, and we’re already dreaming about the next trip.
It’s not just a convenient final stop for our European itineraries (thanks to the direct flight to Phoenix)—it’s a city we’re genuinely drawn to. Every visit feels different, and every return reveals something new. That’s what makes London the perfect Jet Set Digest destination: it’s fast-paced, culturally rich, endlessly walkable, and full of luxury layered in history.
Why We Love London
There are few cities in the world where you can walk from a 1,000-year-old abbey to a Michelin-starred sushi restaurant, pass five languages on the way, and end the day with a show in the West End. London is the ultimate mix of old and new, and that contrast gives it a kind of energy you can’t find anywhere else.
It reminds us of a European version of New York City—only older, more polite, and with better tea.
What to See (Even When You’ve Seen It All)
Because we’ve visited so often, we don’t repeat much—but there are a few must-sees we always recommend to first-timers and fast-track travelers:
- Churchill War Rooms – One of the most fascinating and well-preserved WWII sites we’ve ever visited. If you’re even mildly interested in history, this is unmissable.
- West End Shows – We saw Mamma Mia on one of our earlier visits and it was pure joy. The West End is packed with talent, and it’s a great way to enjoy the city after dark.
- Hyde Park – If the sun’s out, this is where we go. It’s the perfect pause between museums or a scenic walk back from Harrods.
Where We Eat
London’s culinary scene is one of the most diverse and authentic in the world. We never run out of new places to try—but one spot has earned a permanent place in our rotation:
- 50 Kalò di Ciro Salvo Pizzeria – It’s casual, it’s Neapolitan, and it’s shockingly good. We recommend making a reservation (yes, even for pizza) because this place fills up fast.
Whether you’re craving Michelin tasting menus, Indian street food, or dim sum in Soho, London delivers.
Where We Stay
We’ve made it a tradition to stay in a different hotel and neighborhood each time—and it’s part of what keeps London feeling fresh.
From Mayfair elegance to South Bank views or Notting Hill charm, each stay gives us a different lens on the city. And the best part? They’ve all been great.
If you want help finding a luxury hotel in your favorite corner of London, our VIP Concierge Service can match you to the perfect property based on pace, style, and purpose.
How We Get Around
London’s public transportation is world-class—clean, reliable, and fast. We rely almost exclusively on the Tube, trains, and the occasional bus. With an Oyster card or contactless tap, you can zip across the city like a local.
Our tip? Don’t waste time in traffic. Go underground.
And Yes, You Should Go to Harrods
Is it touristy? Sure. But it’s also one of the most iconic department stores in the world, and it’s worth experiencing at least once. From the food halls to the perfume counters, it’s a uniquely London way to shop.
A City That Keeps Us Coming Back
London isn’t a one-and-done city. It’s the kind of place that rewards return travelers—with hidden gardens, new exhibits, pop-up dining, and a rhythm that always feels modern, no matter how old the buildings are.
For us, it’s the perfect finale to a whirlwind European itinerary: a city where you can walk, wander, eat well, and fly home in one direct shot.
